Theis monitoring coronavirus developments

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Lana Theis said Saturday that she is monitoring news of possible coronavirus infection discovered in Washtenaw county, after the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced it approved specimens from two individuals in Washtenaw County and one from Macomb County to be sent to the Centers for Disease Control for testing.

“I have been in contact with DHHS officials regarding the possibility of individuals from Washtenaw County being infected by the coronavirus. I am confident that medical officials are taking every step necessary to ensure the health of the individuals and that of the public. I requested that DHHS keep me up-to-date with the latest information on these developments and will be monitoring the situation closely.”
