LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Lana Theis today announced she will read to elementary-age students in Pinckney and Fowlerville on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Theis will read to students at the Pinckney Community Public Library, located at 125 Putnam St. in Pinckney, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
The senator will then participate in the Fowlerville “Summer Reading Nights” event, which is 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the John Munn Early Childhood Center, located at 440 N. Hibbard St. in Fowlerville. Other participants include H.T. Smith Elementary School Principal Kathy Gibson.
Theis previously announced her “Be a Senator for a Day” summer reading contest, which is open to all students residing in the 22nd Senate District. Students may participate by obtaining a special bookmark from any of the community libraries located in the district or from Theis’ office.
Students’ completed bookmarks should be mailed to Theis’ office, and one winner will be selected and will be invited to spend a day at the Capitol with Theis. The contest ends on Sept. 1.
