Sen. Theis announces staff for 102nd Legislature

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Lana Theis on Wednesday announced her staff for the 102nd Legislature.

Meghan Reckling will continue to serve as chief of staff and Theresa Grace as constituent relations director and veterans affairs coordinator. Daniel Waun is joining Theis’ staff as director of communications and legislative affairs.

“My team is eager and excited for the opportunity to continue serving the residents of the 22nd Senate District, and we welcome residents’ questions, concerns and ideas about the issues impacting their lives and communities,” said Theis, R-Brighton. “I am pleased to welcome Dan to my team as we continue to fight for the families, children and hardworking men and women of the 22nd Senate District and those throughout our great state.”

Waun has more than 15 years’ experience serving in various roles in the legislative and executive branches of state government, for a nonprofit and in the private sector focusing primarily on communications. Waun holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Western Michigan University.

Reckling has served under Theis since 2015 and has nearly 20 years of legislative experience. In addition to fulfilling her duties as chief of staff, Reckling will also handle scheduling for the senator.

Grace has been with Theis since 2019 and will continue serving the people as constituent relations director and serving the district’s military veterans. She previously served under former Sen. Joe Hune for eight years.
